Use
these helpful questions and answers to make your fishing experience
better!!
1. How should I dress in the summer?
The summer can be very hot so wear cool comfortable clothing,
sunglasses, rubber soled shoes to prevent slipping, a hat, use sun protection
(SPF 30 or greater is recommended).
2. How should I dress in the winter?
South
Florida winters vary day to day. We recommend you dress in layers. It
is not uncommon for it to be cold in the morning, with a warm afternoon,
or vise versa. So bring ample clothing and add and remove layers as
needed.
3. What to Bring?
Bring
lunch, snacks and drinks (enough for a full day’s fishing). Bring
plenty of sun protection.
4. What’s provided by the boat?
The
boat provides a Captain, a Mate, Ice, Tackle and Bait.
5. What
about Sea sickness?
If
you are prone to seasickness we recommended you take the prescribed
daily dose of any of the over the counter remedies the night before
your trip (Dramamine, Trip tone, Bonine). This allows the medication
to enter your system and begin working. Then follow up with an additional
dose the morning of your trip. We also recommend you avoid rich, heavy
foods and you start with a light non greasy breakfast.
6. How much
in Gratuity (Tipping)?
Remember,
mates work off tips. Standard gratuity for the mate is %15 of the charter
price. Tipping the Captain is not necessary but is always welcome.
7. How much to clean our fish?
There
is no additional charge for cleaning fish on our boats. All Fish are
cleaned and bagged for you.
8. How long
is a day of fishing?
A full day of fishing is 8 am to 4 pm. A half day fishing is 8 am until
12 pm.
9. Should
I charter for a full day or a half a day?
We
recommend that you charter a boat for a full day of fishing. This allows
the captain and mate ample time to do their thing. With a half day charter
you are more rushed for time and if there is problem finding bait you
may end up losing valuable fishing time. Also, if fish are being caught
at a location farther from home the captain may decided not to use your
fishing time traveling. In a full day the captain has ample time to
make the necessary adjustments to give you the best opportunity to catch
fish.
10 . What about asking fishing questions?
Your
questions are always welcome as captain and mate will work to answer
most of them. They are always willing to explain in detail what it is
they are attempting to do, and are occasionally willing to give away
a few guarded secrets. Fishing with these guys is a great way to improve
your own fishing skills. Watch closely and you might just learn that
hard-to-tie knot that’s been driving you crazy. Please however
leave the GPS at home.
11. Can I bring small children?
Bringing
young children is always welcome and encouraged. After all they are
the next generation in our sport. Infants however are better off left
on dry land. Changing weather and the always possible unpredictable
wave can be hazardous for small children. However the final decision
is up to you the parent.
12. How
many people can come on the boat?
The
No Excuse is licensed to carry up to 6 guests regardless of age or weight.
